First Lady Melania Trump’s parents became US citizens last week. Melania Trump herself is a naturalized US citizen and was born outside the US. But she’s not the only first lady in US history who was born abroad. Louisa Adams, wife of John Quincy Adams, was born in England. To unpack the parallels between these foreign born first ladies, Carol Hills talks to Louisa Thomas, biographer of Louisa Adams.
