The dilemmas that Gaza’s information environment present newsrooms

Since the current conflict began, no foreign journalists have been able to report from inside Gaza, except in the company of Israeli troops on short-term highly vetted and controlled visits. Palestinian journalists in Gaza are both reporters and victims: 37 have been killed, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. Newsrooms agonize over how to attribute information that can’t be confirmed on the ground. The World’s Marco Werman talks with Sharif Mansour, the Middle East and North Africa program coordinator with the Committee to Protect Journalists, about the dilemma newsrooms around the world are facing when covering the world’s leading story.
