Since the 1980s, the US war on drugs has had a major ally in Asia, and that would be Thailand. In more recent years though, Thailand has started going its own way, even allowing cannabis oil for medical use. And now, it’s fully legalizing a narcotic leaf called kratom that grows in the tropics of Southeast Asia. As The World’s Patrick Winn reports from Bangkok, Thai entrepreneurs are eager to sell this once-illegal drug.
