Now, it has brought the world one of the most powerful tools in this pandemic: a highly effective vaccine against the coronavirus. But Moderna has also been in the global hot seat over its handling of vaccine manufacturing and global access. As The World’s Elana Gordon reports, recent patent disputes and pressure from shareholders are amplifying difficult questions about what this small, New England company really owes the world during a pandemic.
