Taiwan’s president visits US as Macron touches down in Beijing

As the US seeks to reassure Taiwan on its territorial integrity in a meeting between US Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy and President Tsai Ing-wen, French President Emmanuel Macron is in Beijing trying to coax China out of the embrace of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
