Italy’s new populist government is reiterating that Italy’s ports will be closed to all foreign migrant rescue ships. The World’s Rich Hall reported from a migrant rescue ship last year, only to find out subsequently that there was a spy onboard trying to undermine future rescue missions. Hall says he could see the beginnings of Italy’s war on migrants in the drama that unfolded onboard that ship a year ago.
