Secretary of State Blinken meets the ‘quad’ in Australia

Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Melbourne, Australia, on Friday, meeting with a security group known as “the Quad.” It’s an unofficial partnership that includes the US, Australia, Japan and India. This week, the group pledged to keep the Indo-Pacific region free from “coercion,” a thinly veiled reference to China’s influence in the region. Reporter Ashley Westerman tells host Carol Hills that Blinken’s visit became even more important this week, as it was seen as a signal that the region is a priority even as Ukraine and Russia appear to closer to a wider war.
