Saudi Arabia, one of the richest countries in the world, has announced a 15% tax on almost all goods and services in the kingdom. It has also said it’s cutting down benefits for state employees. Meanwhile, its Public Investment Fund has been on a shopping spree lately. It dropped roughly $7.7 billion on stakes in Facebook, Boeing and Starbucks, among other companies.
