A high-energy salute to the power of African women won this year’s Carnival contest in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Hosts Marco Werman and Carolyn Beeler tell the story of the Viradouro samba school, whose float highlighted Brazil’s historic ties with Benin, from where many people were taken to Brazil as enslaved people.
