Sails may be the future of cargo shipping

An enormous cargo vessel carrying containers from China to Brazil left port with new sails to assist its journey. They’re called “wind wings.” Harnessing wind power is one strategy that can reduce fuel use and emissions. The World’s Marco Werman talks with John Cooper, the CEO of BAR Technologies, which designed the sails used in this technology’s maiden commercial voyage.
