Saami artists challenge borders and conflict to present at the Venice Biennale

The world’s largest art show kicked off this week in Italy. The Venice Biennale features exhibitions from countries across the world, each in their own pavilions. This year, the Nordic pavilion handed its space over to art made by the Indigenous people of Arctic Europe, the Saami. From Venice, John Last reports on how the show challenges the modern-day borders created by colonialism, and casts a new light on the difficulties created by the war in Ukraine.
