Ridding oceans and rivers of plastic

The World

The organization “Ocean Cleanup” was inspired by a teenager who wanted to remove plastic from oceans. After a decade of work, their technology is in use in several countries, working to pull plastic out the ocean, and to stop it from entering the oceans through rivers. Host Marco Werman recently interviewed Joost Dubois, the communications director of Ocean Cleanup, at a live stage event in Thousand Oaks California. The event was organized by public radio station KCLU.
