New infections of the coronavirus are growing rapidly around the world. The more transmissible omicron variant is driving lots of surges. But the responses are also all across the board. Host Marco Werman speaks with Dr. Gavin Yamey, a global health professor at Duke University, about how places are reacting to omicron, from the UK to South Africa. He and public health colleagues across the globe have been calling for a more robust “vaccine-plus” strategy.
