Toots Hibbert, one of reggae’s founders, has died. He was 77. Hibbert was one of reggae’s beloved stars; he gave the music its name and later helped make it an international movement. Hibbert, the voice of Toots and the Maytals, has a distinctive voice but was a double threat as a songwriter.
