Remembering an iconic Olympic moment

The World

An iconic American moment took place at the Olympics 50 years ago. US sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their fists in the air as the national anthem played during a medal ceremony at the Olympic Stadium in Mexico City. As they raised their black-gloved fists, the two athletes protested racial and economic inequalities back home in the US. Reporter Esteban Bustillos spoke to two members of the 1968 US team to hear how they remember the events of 50 years ago.
