The World’s Carolyn Beeler visited Barranquitas, a mountain region in central Puerto Rico, to see how much the town has recovered in the year since Hurricane Maria devastated the island. She found out if another storm hit today, the response to problems with power outages and landslides there wouldn’t be much better than they were last year.
