Reasons to worry and hope in the pandemic 

The COVID-19 vaccine arsenal looks poised to get a boost. A review by the US Food and Drug Administration found Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 shot is safe and effective. That paves the way for an emergency use approval in the US that’s expected within days, and sends a strong signal throughout the world. At the same time, each week, it seems, we’re also learning new details about variants of the virus spreading around the globe. So, what does that mean for the pandemic?
