To commemorate Pride month, John Sullivan, the US ambassador to Russia, had a rainbow flag placed outside the US Embassy in Moscow. Hanging the flag on a pole outside a government building in Russia is illegal, though, so Ambassador Sullivan had the flag hung between two balconies. While much of the reaction online has been positive, anti-LGBTQ activists and politicians in Russia have spoken out against the display. The World’s Bianca Hillier reports.
