A member of Qatar’s royal family placed a bid to buy Manchester United of the Premier League. The possible sale to Gulf investors follows a trend in European soccer leagues. Clubs like Manchester City, Paris Saint-German, and others have been sold to investors from the Gulf in recent years. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Kristian Ulrichsen, a fellow with the Baker Institute, about the appeal of soccer clubs to Gulf investors.
