Protests and counter-protests in Iran

The World

Monday marked the 10th day of protests in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini, a woman allegedly beaten to death by Iran’s so-called morality police for not conforming to the country’s hijab laws. At least 41 people have been reported dead since protests began, according to Iranian state sources, but human rights groups say the death toll may be higher. Golnaz Esfandiari, who is based in Prague, Czech Republic, and covers Iran as a senior correspondent for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, discusses the situation with The World’s host Marco Werman.
