Tens of thousands of Israelis protested a plan to overhaul the judiciary that was put forth by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. Inside parliament, tempers flared as debate and preliminary votes on the bill began. Some say the plan threatens the very democratic fabric of the country.
