Patients put spotlight on post-COVID symptoms

For many people, contracting COVID-19 is just the beginning. A range of conditions can appear after the initial infection has passed. Scientists are still trying to wrap their heads around all this. But even if the symptoms may be rare, they’ve become a lot more common as the overall number of people infected with COVID-19 continues to grow. “Long COVID” and “post-COVID” cases are starting to get more attention thanks to patients like Claire Hastie of Birmingham, England. She’s the founder of Long COVID Support, which started as a Facebook group and now has tens of thousands of members worldwide. She spoke with host Marco Werman.
