Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s speeches were banned by Pakistan’s media regulator on Monday. The regulator said Khan was “spreading hate speech” in his recent rhetoric against the country’s institutions. Police authorities also tried to arrest Imran Khan at his residence but failed to do so. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Pakistani journalist, Amber Shamsi, about the ban as well as the latest on the country’s economic struggles and hopes for a deal with the International Monetary Fund.
