A first-of-its-kind study to see what cats eat on a global scale shows they consume more than 2,000 species, from common sparrows and mice to emus, cows, and bullfrogs. What’s more, many of the life forms that cats eat are of concern to conservationists. Host Marco Werman finds out more about the dark side of domestic cats with Christopher Lepczyk, the lead author of the study, which appears in Nature Communications. Lepczyk is an ecologist at Auburn University who is focused on conserving nature and biodiversity.
