On the front line in Luhansk

Ukrainian Cpl. Andrii Shadrin has been deployed to the Donbas to fight Russia-backed separatists a half dozen times since 2014. That’s when Russia annexed Crimea, the peninsula where Shadrin was born. The 26-year-old medic is now again stationed in a Donbas operational zone. He talks with The World’s Carolyn Beeler about everyday life near the front lines.
