A massive oil spill in Siberia has caused Russia to declare a state of emergency in the region. The mining company responsible for the spill says it was partly due to climate change. The permafrost, the once permanently frozen arctic ground under structures and buildings, is melting. They say the melting caused a leak in a reservoir holding tens of thousands of tons of diesel fuel. The World’s Host Marco Werman speaks to the World Wildlife Foundation’s Alexey Knizhnikov about the impact of the spill and what it means for the Russian Arctic.
