A hunger crisis is sweeping North Korea — one so bad that even the regime is acknowledging it. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has exhorted citizens to brace for struggle, using language that recalls a devastating famine that left millions of North Koreans dead. The World’s Patrick Winn says a major cause of the famine is COVID-19, which has shut down vital cross-border trade with China.
