NHL season is back — sort of

The World

The National Hockey League is back on the ice today. Teams are practicing for the first time since March. Games are scheduled to resume August 1 but will not be held in the United States. The NHL is holding its 24-team playoff in two Canadian cities: Edmonton and Toronto. Edmonton will also host the 2020 Stanley Cup finals. NHL games in Canada will have no fans and a lot of uncertainty.
