With an impressive 295 co-sponsors, the House of Representatives passed a bill last month approving the establishment of a National Museum of the American Latino in Washington, DC, as part of the Smithsonian Institution. Next up in the process is getting the bill passed by the Senate. But that has been delayed due to the Senate’s crammed legislative schedule as they manage COVID-19 relief efforts. Still, Latinos are looking forward to the museum’s eventual opening, when they’ll be able to learn about Latin Americans’ contributions to the United States. The World’s Bianca Hillier reports.
