People often think of the Arctic region as a cold and icy remote place near the north pole. Over the years, however, the region has become a source of tension between Russia and some NATO countries in the area. Moscow has been building up its military presence there, and in response, countries like Sweden and Norway have been building up their security capabilities, as well.
