The world was stunned in January when an opposition leader took on President Nicolás Maduro, Hugo Chávez’s hand-picked successor. Here on The World, we covered it every day and were glued to social media for updates. But the news struck one of our former producers, Ruxandra Guidi, even deeper. She explains how Venezuela’s political crisis has rendered a chasm in her family.
