 French President Emmanuel Macron vowed to cut taxes for the middle class in his national address today. This has been a long-awaited speech by the French president to respond to the 5-month-long anti-government protests by the Yellow Vests. The recent unrest has been around Notre-Dame: The $1 billion pledged for its reconstruction has angered some people. Host Marco Werman speaks with The World’s Lucy Martirosyan who’s been following this. She spoke with members of the Right to Housing Association in Paris, who protested in front of the cathedral this week.
