Life in Ethiopia’s holy city of Lalibela

The civil war in Ethiopia has seen a lot of destruction across the northern region. Important religious sites have not been spared. As the war came closer to the holy city of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage site, there was concern about the fate of the 13th century churches there. The World’s Halima Gikandi recently traveled to the town to see if it has weathered the storm.
