For fans, SOPHIE was more than a musician. Many members of the global LGBTQ community looked up to SOPHIE, a transgender pop pioneer, as a type of queer “mother figure,” before her untimely death this week in Greece. SOPHIE, originally from Scotland, was 34. The World’s Bianca Hillier speaks with members of the LGBTQ community to hear how SOPHIE’s legacy will live on.
