Letters to Rwanda’s dead speak of life

The Rwandan genocide took place nearly 30 years ago. But the scars from the bloodshed live on in survivors. One artist and playwright, known as Kiki, began writing letters to the dead and encouraged others to do the same. Her play, “The Book of Life,” is based on those letters and was performed this month at the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC. Reporter Victoria Hansen of South Carolina Public Radio was in the audience.
