Zere Asylbek is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter and aspiring actress in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek. She recorded a song calling on women to be themselves and dress however they want. Asylbek did exactly that in the accompanying music video, which has prompted some death threats by Kyrgyz men who are offended by the message. Carol Hills reports.
