Kenyan conservationist and paleoanthropologist dies at 77

Richard Leakey, a world-renowned Kenyan conservationist and fossil hunter passed away over the weekend at the age of 77. He was most well known for his discovery in Kenya of skeletons belonging to Homo erectus, an ancient ancestor of human beings. The World’s Carol Hills spoke with Paula Kahumbu, conservationist and CEO of WildlifeDirect, about Leakey’s story and legacy.
