Janajaweed leader to be tried at International Criminal Court

On April 5, the International Criminal Court (ICC) will take up the case of a Janjaweed leader who is charged with rape, torture and murder in the Darfur region of Sudan during 2003 and 2004. It is the first trial at the ICC to address war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Darfur. Marco Werman speaks with Rebecca Hamilton, associate professor of law at American University’s Washington College of Law, and author of the book, “Fighting for Darfur.”
