Jamal Khashoggi’s vision lives on in new foundation

The World

At the time of Jamal Khashoggi’s murder in 2018, the writer and journalist was in the process of creating a foundation to promote democracy in the Middle East. On Tuesday, it was launched. Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) will focus on countries that are close allies of the United States, like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and will call attention to Washington policies that work against democratic reforms. Marco Werman speaks with Sarah Leah Whitson, the executive director of DAWN.
