Kenyan singer-songwriter J.S. Ondara got to the US by chance. He won the State Department’s annual green card lottery. Since his arrival in 2013, Ondara’s hit the folk club circuit and now finds that his debut album, “Tales of America,” has been nominated for a Grammy Award.
