But back home, his political opponents are battling it out, to see who will get to challenge him in April’s presidential election. Conservative lawmaker Valerie Pecresse is seen as a likely candidate, but as The World’s Europe correspondent Orla Barry reports, she has a long way to go to be a real contender.
