The COVID-19 pandemic has caused major burnout for nurses and other health care workers, and many have left the profession. A new report says the US and other wealthy nations are luring international nurses in record numbers to fill the gap, and it’s causing major shortages in poorer countries where healthcare workers are desperately needed. Howard Catton, the CEO of International Council of Nurses and a co-author of the new findings, spoke to The World from Geneva.
