Authorities in Peru declared a nationwide state of emergency today, after demonstrations in support of ousted President Pedro Castillo resulted in at least eight deaths, and left hundreds of others injured. Several Latin American leaders are also closing ranks in support of Castillo. The World’s host Marco Werman talks with Peruvian scholar Nicolás Saldías about the reaction of regional powers to Peru’s crisis.
