Indian Muslims are celebrating the holy month of Ramadan with great fanfare and community spirit in the lead up to the Eid holiday. After two years of strict lockdowns — during which social gatherings were banned and people could only celebrate with their families — there is much festivity, but also an undercurrent of tension.
