On a snowy February Saturday morning in the 1960s, Florence Rappaport fed her two youngest kids ice cream for breakfast to stop them complaining about being bored. Every year after, the Rappaport family celebrated Ice Cream for Breakfast Day on the first Saturday in February. Over the years, the ritual has morphed from a silly family tradition to a holiday observed all over the world. The World’s Sarah Birnbaum has more.
