Hurricane season is changing. So is how officials are preparing for it.

Hurricanes are expected to grow more intense with a changing climate, and already, emergency officials are starting to change their messaging around the season. Hurricanes will no longer be named after Greek letters after the named list is exhausted. Also, the National Hurricane Center will start issuing its hurricane forecasts on May 15. Officials may move up the hurricane season’s start date as well. And this season, officials worry about “disaster fatigue” amid the pandemic. The World’s Carolyn Beeler reports.
