This year, Ukraine’s oldest-running children’s choir was going to mark its 50th anniversary with a world tour. When Russia’s invasion of Ukraine made a tour impossible, Saul Zaks, the artistic director of the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival, worked to help get the music of Kyiv’s Shchedryk Children’s Choir out to the world. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Zaks.
