After the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, the Bush administration committed resources to rebuild the country’s education system.  The US has spent $4.1 million on a women’s dormitory at the American University in Afghanistan. In 2016, the university was the target of a long, bloody terror attack. Students and teachers were killed and the university closed temporarily. It has since reopened and the dorms filled up earlier this year. The World’s Shirin Jaafari meets with young women who are living and studying there.
