Hindu revisionists are going after India’s Mughal-era structures

When the Mughals swept into India in the 1500s, they often erected their mosques on Hindu temple sites. More than 500 years later, right-wing Hindus are claiming that they are the rightful owners. As Hindu nationalism dominates Indian politics, the question of to whom the sites belong has become a religious flash point.
