A new report from the UN says that child mortality rates were on the decline in 2022. The report noted that deaths among children under 5 years old dropped to a record low of 4.9 million that year. Host Marco Werman spoke with Thomas Spoorenberg, officer in the UN’s Population Division in the Demographic Analysis Section, about the factors behind the decline.
